#4 Working for free - vocabulary & review

VOCABULARY 1. shadow verb to follow someone else while they are at work in order to learn about that person's job: EX. Your first week in the job will be spent shadowing one of our more experienced employees. 2. social mobility noun (u) the ability to move from one level of society to another EX. The findings reported here show that social mobility has some impact on geographical distance between generations and little impact on intergenerational family contacts. REVIEW In my opinion, I think it is not fair that the internship opportunities are only available to those with established connections to the company or industry. Because I think the most important thing is the attitudes at work, such as, to be willing to learn and progress or to be able to work diligently without supervision. Some hard-working students don't have pre-existing link with the company and lose the opportunity. Wouldn't it be a pity! To sum up, I hope everyone has the same chance t...

#3 A SAD SONG

圖片
Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - Shallow I like this song because of the movie "A star is born". It's the theme song      of  the  movie. This song is talking about the man and female lead striving for breakthroughs in  their careers and emotional lives.   One piece of lyrics impressed me: I’m falling In all the good times I find myself longin' for change And in the bad times I fear myself I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in I'll never meet the ground Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us We're far from the shallow now In the shallow, shallow We're far from the shallow now There is no specific situation in the lyrics, so we have more imagination of it. I like this very much! Through this song, I think it gives me more courage to meet challenges, and always do myself. Don't be afraid to step out of the comfort zone.

#1 GREETING

Hello, I'm Ruby, from NUTC. This is the first year I come to this school. I wish I will have a  good time in NTUB. I am an easygoing girl, I like to chat with my friends. If I have free time, I usually go shopping and eat sweet food in Taipei street. In sum, I am very happy to take  this course.
